LVGL, 2.1-Inch Round Display & Animation of Future
MCU-based embedded systems have relatively few resources. Therefore, it is not easy to play animation files in the usual way.
Here I'll show you the whole workflow for being able to play animations on an ESP32-S3 using the LVGL Lottie Player with rLottie.
GIF files are too heavy and require a lot of memory to process on the MCU. Also, JPEG has no transparency, you must have an image for each frame. On the other hand, a Lottie is a JSON-based animation file format that allows you to ship animations on any platform as easily as shipping static assets. They are small files that work on any device and can scale up or down without pixelation.
