🔍 Part 28: Measuring Lines & Curves
To freehand measure a straight line, select the line tool or hit “/” on your keyboard. Click and drag from point to point. You will see in the little grey box the measurement of that distance.
To measure a curved line, simply cut the line, at either end, using the scissor tool. Select it using the direct selection tool, click document info, click the burger menu, and click objects. You will now see the length of that line displayed in your measurement value cm or inches.
To measure a specific distance along a curve, select the curve, click stroke, dashed line and add your measurement into the first box. Add 1cm into the second box. This breaks the line into sections using your measurement.
To reverse the direction of the measurement, click object, path, reverse direction. Mark the measurement with a line. You can check the measurement by cutting the line and clicking document info.
