SUMPRODUCT Function is math function in Excel that multiply the corresponding components of a given array and then return the sum of the products. It can be used to calculate a weighted average.
This example explains on how to use SUMPRODUCT function for a simple problem whereby range of unit price and quantity of units sold is given. Typically the norm is to obtain a grand total by multiplying the product price with the units sold for each product and then to add all the revenues to get a grand total. However, with the help of this function we can just define the two arrays and the answer would come the same.
