A Bible reading of Luke 15:11-32, which contains Jesus' Parable of the Prodigal Son. In this story, the loving and forgiving father is a picture of God, the younger rebellious son is a picture of all those who've wandered and are lost, and the self-righteous elder brother represents the proud teachers of the law. This Gospel passage is one of the most memorable of Jesus' parables as it echoes God's loving attitude towards the lost and his extension of grace.
