🥗 Where to eat tasty and inexpensive in Kazan? What dishes of Tatar cuisine are worth trying? Where to buy the most delicious chak-chak in Kazan? My video about Tatar cuisine is not a full-fledged guide, but the advice of a satisfied tourist. I share what I like.

1. Echpochmak - a triangular Tatar pie stuffed with meat and potatoes
2. Gubadia - a sweet Tatar pie stuffed with rice, boiled egg, dried red curd (kort/kyrt) and raisins
3. Chak-chak - the main Tatar sweet that every tourist should try in Kazan (fried "worms" from dough, fastened with a viscous honey mass)
4. Baursak - stick of fried dough soaked in honey
5. Talkysh Kaleve - a dessert that resembles cotton candy, but honey and denser
6. Kystyby - fried flatbread with a huge amount of filling (mashed potatoes with fried onions are considered a classic)
7. Katyk - Tatar fermented baked milk
8. Tartar smetannik - a national Tatar pie on a substrate of shortcrust pastry and cream of whipped sour cream and curd mass
9. Elesh - a heavy Tatar pie with a round shape, the filling is made from duck or beef, potatoes and onions
10. Azu - Tatar stew of beef, potatoes, pickled cucumbers and prunes
📍 Where to eat tasty and inexpensive in Kazan (cafes, restaurants and canteens from this video):
• "Tubetey". A network of fast food restaurants in Tatarstan, which operates on the principle of McDonald's. Try "kystyburgers" and echpochmaki fries.
• Canteens. Network canteens of Kazan: "Good", "Home". On the Bauman pedestrian street, you can eat deliciously and inexpensively in the cafes "House of Tea", "Good Dining Room", "Pepper".
• "Sultan Suleyman". Located next to Baumana street. Here they cook dishes from farm horse meat and other food that belongs to the "home" Tatar cuisine. In the video in this restaurant, I try the national sweets of Tatarstan.
• Cafe "Alan Ash". Chain cafe of Tatar cuisine with open distribution, affordable prices and interior in the Tatar style. I ate echpochmak and gubadia at a cafe located in the Tugan Avylym complex.
• Ash Babai. A small cafe is located next to the famous "Tatar estate" near Lake Kaban. I tried the basics in Tatar.
• Bakery "Zhar Svezhar". There are all over Kazan. I recommend sour cream.
• Shop "Bakhetle". The supermarket where I bought hot cakes.
• The most delicious baursaks and chak-chaks are prepared by Kazan Bakery No. 3. The manufacturer has its own stores, but their products can also be found in regular supermarkets and souvenir shops.
