I've disassembled, cleaned and reassembled this cuckoo clock movement, and now it's time to adjust the striking - the gong and cuckoo sound.

In this video I 1) check the rhythm of the Gong and Bellows Levers to see that the 'gong-coo-coo' sequence has the right rhythm, 2) adjust the position of the Gathering Pin at the end of striking so that the clock always strikes reliably, 3) adjust the position of the Star wheel at the end of striking so the clock doesn't end its striking in the middle of a 'gong-coo-coo' sequence, and finally 4) adjust the Snail position so the clock reliably strikes the right number of hours every hour.

Update: After working on another, similar cuckoo clock, I realized that my whole yabbering on at 6:15 + about being able to adjust the cuckoo rhythm by bending the lever tabs... not so much. Of course, after a little thought you'll see that the only thing that affects the rhythm of the gong-coo-coo sequence (other than the order of the levers) is the LENGTH of the tabs that are lifted by the star wheel. I would seriously advise against grinding down one or more tabs to adjust the gong-coo-coo rhythm. Just be happy with the rhythm from the factory. (I have lots to learn about clock repair.)
