The fashion industry's contribution to pollution cannot be ignored, despite its association with flamboyant stylers and killer good looks. Polyester, one of the most commonly used fabrics in fashion, has been found to pollute more than coal plants, while clothing production is responsible for the release of microplastics into the environment. The use of dyes in the manufacturing process results in wastewater that can have harmful effects, and an alarming 2,700 liters of water are required to produce just one cotton shirt. Furthermore, the constant demand for new clothing has led to an increase in toxic waste. In light of all these environmental issues, it's important to take action and make conscious decisions that prioritize sustainability in the fashion industry.
