Hanklin and Dorothy Purvis live a quiet and harmonious life on their Midwestern farm. As summer draws to a close, life seems idyllic: the fields are ripening, and the forests around their home are filled with birdsong. However, a series of strange and violent incidents begins to disturb the couple. At first, they dismiss it as the work of wildlife: a barn ravaged by livestock, trampled fields, mysterious noises at night.
But when their neighbor goes missing and his mangled body is found in the woods, the situation takes a grim turn. Hanklin arms himself, determined to protect his home, but the more he investigates, the clearer it becomes: this is no ordinary animal. A mythical "Dogman" has appeared in the area — a half-human, half-wolf creature embodying the darkest fears of local legends.
As the couple gradually uncovers the dark truth about the forest's past, they realize this predator is driven not just by instinct but by a sinister purpose that could destroy their lives.
