Natlan's trailers left me underwhelmed... Why is that?
There’s so much to talk about in Natlan’s trailers — Saurians, characters, world design, music, melanin levels — but while I’m looking forward to the new region and curious what it’ll be like, for some reason I don’t feel excited.
I’m sure that will change once it comes out, but it’s such a contrast to last year that it makes me wonder why.
By this point last year I was well and truly hyped for Fontaine. I was so ready for the new story, could not wait to meet the new characters and explore the new regions — on all counts my anticipation was through the roof.
This time it’s somehow not the same.
So how exactly have Hoyo missed the mark? I think I’ve figured it out.
Let’s compare what was revealed to us at each stage for Natlan and Fontaine, and see how — for me at least — Natlan’s trailers started off strong, but ended up underwhelming.
