Genshin version 4 is finally coming to a close, and for me, it has been absolutely phenomenal.

A year ago I was looking back on version 3, and trying to figure out why I felt relieved that Sumeru was over, despite it including some of my favourite gaming moments of all time, and hoping the fresh start in Fontaine would bring back the joy.

While Fontaine has not been without its flaws, it has been far better than I ever expected.

Let’s take a journey back through each patch, revisit the highs and lows of each, and then take a look at my overall thoughts. As always, remember this is very subjective — and I’d love to hear your experiences too!
