Josh Hart. Rebounding machine. 2016 NCAA Champion. In 2015, he became the first player to receive the Big East tournament Most Outstanding Player while coming off the bench. Basically: whatever the role, Josh has always impacted the team and made winning plays.
Josh Hart finished the 23-24 regular season as either the joint top rebounder (with Isaiah Hartenstein at 8.3) OR tied for second (if you include Mitchell Robinson’s 8.5 rebounds through 31 games). Hart then upped that to 11.5 rebounds per game in the playoffs, leading the Knicks.
That 11.5 rebounds was second to only Nikola Jokic’s 13.4 for players who made it past the first round. Not bad for someone listed at 6’4” with a 6’9” wingspan.
The key for Josh Hart isn’t the he’s the bounciest athlete or the tallest but his desire and basketball feel are second to none when it comes to chasing down or timing the boards. Being a former Villanova Wildcat under Jay Wright means he’s as fundamentally sound as anyone in the league but when you combine his technique, knowhow, and hunger, he’ll get to a rebound in a way very few others can.
All clips from the 23/24 season.
