(9 May 2018) Ten days before Prince Harry's wedding, the Household Cavalry in London is getting ready for the big event.
Inside the central London barracks of the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, State Trumpeters practiced, soldiers polished, and horses paraded in preparation for the big day.
This wedding, however, will have a special significance given that Prince Harry served with the Household Cavalry and even toured the frontline of Afghanistan with them.
Some members of the Cavalry who have worked alongside Harry have special roles on the wedding day.
Among them, Corporal Major Daniel Snoxell, who was Prince Harry's Gunner on operations in Afghanistan.
He will be part of the staircase party at the Royal Wedding.
For Lance Corporal of Horse Frankie O'Leary who was Prince Harry's Driver on operations in Afghanistan in 2007, and who will ride on the Royal escort, it makes the day extra special.
For the man who will command the travelling escort, Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel James Gaselee, the only worry about the big day is the unpredictable nature of the horses, especially in the presence of the large crowds.
Prince Harry joined The Blues and Royals in April 2006 and served with the Household Cavalry Regiment, undertaking two tours of Afghanistan and rising to the rank of captain.
