In addition to the fact that you need to empirically determine the right number of seconds, how long to hold the iron on the part, it is also important to remember: glue does not like steam. Adhesives should only be glued with a hot iron WITHOUT steam. From steam (moisture), the glue soaks and loses its properties. In order to glue dublerin (non-woven fabric) with high quality, you need a hot iron (it works best for a household one, oddly enough) and pressure. Be sure to let the pieces cool on the board.
