🐸🍄TONIGHT: Join us online to learn about conservation or "green" burial, an environmental alternative to current burial practices such as embalming or cremation with our guest speaker Sarah Wambold, a licensed funeral director and writer in Austin, TX. Sarah has worked in the funeral industry for over a decade, as both a funeral director and as a caretaker for a natural burial cemetery. Her current project is Campo de Estellas, a conservation burial cemetery, which she co-founded with Cindy Ybarra and her son, Michael. At Campo de Estellas, respect for the dead is aligned with respect for nature, wildlife, and the environment: In this presentation, Sarah will go over concepts behind conservation burial, the role that fungi plays in this fungal-friendly end-of-life choice and how one can plan for this type of burial.
