🌽🎊 This Sunday join us at @redsalmonarts in SE Austin for a Tianguis / Bazaar to celebrate 🌽 harvest! Enter to win raffle prizes which is a fundraiser for La Cuidad De Los Niños in Oaxaca.
At 11:30am @shamanjesus will plática / talk about huitlacoche and show the maíz growing at Casa de Resistencia planted by @ctx_cherokee_township @d_tlutlu y @lunamoona86. We will have corn seeds inoculated with spores of huitlacoche and mushroom blocks for everyone to take home.
WHAT IS HUITLACOCHE? Pronounced whee-tla-KO-cheh, huitlacoche is also known as corn mushroom, or Mexican truffle. It is a fungus, which grows on organic maiz /corn, and is a delicacy for many South American people, tribes and indigenous communities.
