How to Change Your WordPress Password (Reset & Recover)
Here are three different ways to change your WordPress password. Learn how to reset your admin password from the dashboard, get a password recovery email, or change your password in the database with phpMyAdmin.

There are three different ways to change or recover your WordPress password (as an admin). First, you can login to the admin dashboard and visit the Your Profile menu found under Users. There’s a Generate Password button at the bottom you can use to update your password instantly.
If you can’t login to your site because you forgot your password then you can visit the login page and use the password recover link found below the form. You’ll get a confirmation email with a link that will take you to the password reset form.
Lastly, if the password recover email doesn’t work or if you forgot your email address and username, you can edit your password (and username) directly in the database. Your hosting account will include a tool called phpMyAdmin which you can use to edit entries in the DB. There is a users table where you’ll find your account. The key to editing your account in this way is to make sure you add your new password using the MD5 hash, or it won’t work properly.
