Learn how to save a draft of a published page or post in this quick WordPress tutorial.
You'll start by installing the Revisionize plugin that adds the new functionality needed for live post revisions. Once installed, you'll create a private draft of a published post. Then you can make all of the edits you need to make and save your work along the way. When you're ready, you can save the revision to automatically update the live post/page.
Revisionize has a couple of important options to configure as well in its settings menu. If you don't want backups created for all your posts, then make sure to turn this feature off. Additionally, if you want to schedule your revisions to go live at a later date, keep in mind that the update post will keep its original publication date. If you want to schedule a revision and have the post jump to the front of your blog, make sure to uncheck the second box in the Revisionize settings. That's all you need to easily create drafts without unpublishing a post/page.
