Meta-commerce in the Age of Avatars
In this short 20 minute talk, I introduce the idea of meta-commerce and the role of avatars in enabling a blurring between the physical and virtual worlds. In doing so, I summarize recent work from my department on creating and animating full-body and facial avatars from images and video.
The talk is aimed at a general (not expert) audience that is familiar with computer vision and machine learning.
