BIG EMF NEWS! I just discovered that WiFi's in the EU use 80% Less Transmit Power than US. FCC--WHY?
Every time I travel anywhere, I bring an EMF Meter with me. I hope everyone will someday. I get basic information about whatever environment I'm in and it help confirms what I'm feeling--which sometime surprises when levels aren't as high as I thought they would be.
In Spain recently, I noticed that the levels in a Starbucks Coffee Shop seemed much lower than I've seen in other public places in the U.S.
Why would that be?
I know most people don't do this kind of thing on vacation, but that is how much I love my community! :-).
I started researching whether Wifi's can operate at different power levels; are some stronger than others? That's when I learned about something called Transmit Power. That is the amount of energy that WiFis manufacturers use to push out a signal.
I was really surprised to find that not all WiFis are equal. In fact, different countries have different standards. Guess who lets that power pump out the most? The good U.S.A. of course. Thanks FCC. That makes us the world champions of EMF. Because MORE is ALWAYS MORE, right??? If there's enough signal strength for a Starbucks full of users to go online in Spain, shouldn't we have FIVE TIMES MORE in the Starbucks in Dallas. (This is not a Starbucks issue. Different power Wifi's from the same manufacturers are sold in different parts of the world.)
But as I always say, there's no reason to be afraid. There are plenty of things we can do to minimize our exposure to safer levels. Here are a few of my go to solutions:
1. Wire Up. Hardwire your internet access at home for sure. I have come to believe that home WiFi's are our greatest single source of EMF. So eliminating that is super helpful. We have hardwire kits to help you do that without hiring an IT department:
