5300 TONS heavy Chernobyl Arch lifted up for the first time
This is footage recorded by our Sony SNC-RZ25P IP camera installed adjacent to the New Safe Confinement. The quality of the video is limited by the bandwidth of the channel provided by Chernobyl NPP.
On November 24, 2012, at the Shelter site of the Chernobyl NPP, the first lift by 22 m of the eastern part of the Arch weighing 5300 tons has been performed. In total, 3 lifts will be performed for the eastern part of the Arch.
