Why the CUBAN Regime Keeps Blaming Capitalism for Its Economic Crisis
Cuba is experiencing one of the worst economic crises in its history. There are shortages of food, medicines, foreign currency, there are constant blackouts and inflation is high. The situation has worsened so much that at the beginning of 2024 the Cuban government asked the United Nations Food Program for help to maintain the distribution of subsidized milk to children under seven years of age. Worst of all, the island has no international ally to help it financially as in the past. A report by the Cuban Observatory of Human Rights published that poverty has already reached 89% of the population. That is why it is not strange to see long lines of Cubans at the Havana airport to board a flight to Nicaragua and then to travel overland to the United States. So the first question is why is this one of Cuba's worst economic crises since 1959?
