Android Developers are often tasked with displaying a list of data from a URL endpoint. In this tutorial, let's see how to make a REST API call on a background thread using Anko, a background thread utility by the creators of Kotlin. Let's also use Gson (by Google) to parse the JSON data into a model, and display the data as a grid with a RecyclerView. Ready? Let's get started!
