Hi everyone,
This video shows how I applied my Tool)Surface)noise to my rock/stone and then kept working on it with my hPolish Brush. The Surface noise of the rocky texture is just a preview, and it is only confirmed when we press the "apply" key. The surface noise gives a good effect, but I want to make it look less like a "Filter" from a software. It is too obvious and I want to make it look more natural, handmade, by smoothing/removing some of it.
There is also an incident in the middle of my clip (around 07:00) where I was solving a masking issue. I accidentally mask and protected a small area for a long time, and some of my textures on that area is totally stretched. Lucky for us we are using Dynamesh, which is quite forgiving, and I am able to just use Inflat Brush to inflat that area again (until it is too thick, it will be good to dynamesh) Then I dynamesh to resolve the area, then I redo the area.
I carried on my way of adding more and more orbcracks, texture brushes, details using claybrush up, and hPolish on some areas to make it look less like a "Filter" from a software.
Then I applied the same principal - Observe my reference, respect it, try to have at least 3 Variation to all your brush sizes, shapes, depth, and spacing from each strokes to each other!
-At this point I have about at least 8 to 10 different Big crack, Medium Sized crack, small cracks all over the model.
-8 to 10 different strokes of different depth, Deep, Medium, Light.
-8 to 10 different spacing of Big, Medium, small gap.
I used alot of Snake hook(shortcut 4), Orb Crack (shortcut 6), and Clay Buildup with Alt pressed (Substract) (shortcut 1), ClipCurve (Ctrl + Shift, Shortcut 9), Dam Standard (Shortcut 5), hPolish (shortcut 2), Inflat (shortcut 3). In order of highest use to lesser use.
