Commonly known as the treasure flower, the Gazania is native to Coastal South Africa. Its vibrant blooms come in many color varieties and are considered large, usually 4-8 centimeters in diameter. I LOVE the the leaves - which are grayish-green with sparkles of silver.
Known for its ability to withstand drought conditions, the Gazania thrives in full sun and well-drained soil or even poor sandy soils - making it ideal for rock gardens. In colder climates, it can be grown as an annual.
