Many are under the impression that the interface language on VLC Media Player is available only in English.
Not many know that VLC is available in most other major languages of the world.
You can change to your preferred language in VLC Media Player by following these steps.
Launch VLC Media Player.
Next, click on the Tools menu and choose Preferences.
Right at the top of Preferences is Language.
Language preference is set to Auto by default.
That means VLC Media Player is in English.
Click on the drop-down menu, and you can see the list of supported languages.
They aren't listed in alphabetical order, so you may have to run through the entire list to find your preferred language.
You can see under English, there's American English and British English.
Let's choose Malay as our interface language.
After choosing, hit the Save button.
You'll notice that the interface language remains unchanged.
For the new language to take effect, you have to restart VLC Media Player.
Close VLC and relaunch it.
You can now see that the interface language has been switched to Malay.
Let's now try another language.
From the list, let's select French.
Then hit save and close VLC Media Player.
Launch the VLC player, and you'll see that the language has been switched to French.
That's how you change VLC Media Player's interface language.
