I'm attaching a custom island to the kitchen floor of a rental I have. Because I expect a lot of abuse I drilled about 8 holes into the tile. If this is your home, and you are doing this job, I would only use about 4. If you are watching video and doing a large commercial or residential job then please consult local codes for how deep to drill and how big your fastener must be.
