A Sum of Digits | Junior Math Olympiad Training
The Junior Mathematical Challenge (JMC) is a 60-minute, multiple-choice competition for students aged 13 or below created by the UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT).
This is Qu 18 from the JMC 2016 paper.
UKMT aim is to promote a love of problem solving in young people and encourages students to realise the breadth and depth of mathematics.
The problems usually have a certain technique to them so that they can be solved quickly and effectively. This is one such problem. Can you solve it?
