Nintendo Switch Pro just got cancelled
New Nintendo Switch games in January 2022! We’ve got more Mario Kart 9 information, a new Pokémon Legends Arceus trailer that’s only in Japanese? The First Nintendo Direct 2022 is just around the corner and I’m going over switch 2022 game predictions. Nintendo is canceling the Switch Pro! Will we ever get a new pro Switch? Only time will tell.

"Kantan Games' Dr. Serkan Toto has shared his gaming predictions for 2022 with GamesIndustry.biz, noting that he believes the industry will likely see fewer delays this year and that crypto gaming could be about to get even bigger. In amongst those predictions, though, Toto discusses what he calls 'Mario Kart 9', a true successor to Mario Kart 8 that he claims is "in active development". "I am aware Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still selling very well on the Nintendo Switch, but Mario Kart 9 is in active development (and comes with a new twist) and Nintendo could tease it this year."
"Easily the most anticipated Switch game of January 2022 is Pokémon Legends: Arceus - it's an entirely new take on the long-running monster taming series that sends players back to the past. It's out on 28th January, and in the lead-up, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have been sharing more and more footage of the game.
The latest clip to be published is an introduction trailer. Although it's in Japanese, it still gives trainers a good look at how the game will play - showcasing six minutes of the landscape, Pokémon, people and customisation on offer. There's also plenty of footage of the battle mechanics and modes of transportation."

"A senior industry analyst has forecast Nintendo’s next console to launch in 2024, with no ‘Switch Pro’ model arriving before that date. Piers Harding-Rolls of Ampere Analysis provided his predictions for the year in a new GamesIndustry.biz story, and despite recent reports that Nintendo could be planning another upgraded Switch, Harding-Rolls does not expect Switch Pro to happen at all, he said. “I’m currently expecting the console market year-on-year performance to be quite flat in 2022 as Switch sales decline and we come off what has been an amazing couple of years for console gaming,” he wrote."

"Samus Hunter, a reputable Nintendo leaker who has accurately leaked Nintendo news many times in the past, believes that the next Nintendo Direct will happen before February 17. Nintendo has traditionally hosted Nintendo Direct events in February, with a new Nintendo Direct airing in February nearly every year since it started hosting them a decade ago. There have been numerous Nintendo Direct presentations held in January as well, so it seems that fans can expect it to air anytime between now and February 17 - assuming Samus Hunter's information is correct, that is."
