Smart #3 - Product Animation (Unreal Engine 5)
A few years ago, I had the chance to work on the full data-prep process of the Smart #1 and #3. Over the months working on these vehicles, I fell in love with the design and to this day, I get excited whenever I see a Smart #1 on the street (I have yet to see a Smart #3 as they only just started being delivered).
A few months ago, I knew that I wanted to make my own configurator using Unreal Engine 5, so I set off to find a usable 3D model. Unfortunately, the various models didn't go to the level of detail that I needed, so it required some additional modeling on my behalf and extracting textures from press images to get it to the point where I was happy.
Here's the final result, animated and rendered in Unreal Engine 5 using the Path Tracer.
I'll share the results of the real-time configurator on here soon as well.
