After 3 years of wanting to see in person this alluring off-grid beauty, we finally decided it's now time to drive and just go do it. This waterfall has been on our bucket-list for so long.
Walupt Falls presented set of challenges because it's not a conventional hike. There's no visible trailhead, no signage, no designated parking and no cell service. A rather tricky traverse on unmaintained path, you have to rely on hints of past use like faint paths and ribbons, there's lots of overgrowth, and also lots of scrambling. It surely requires preparation, familiarization, maps, hiking apps and better yet a GPS device to keep you oriented. It’s easy to get lost if you haven’t been here before. Make sure you have an experienced hiker with you in this adventure to reduce the chances of injury and minimize getting lost or stuck in tough situations.
Walupt Falls is a magnificent beauty. It's unique, pristine, and quite an adventure to get to. Happy trails, be safe and go chase them waterfalls!
