With a few helpful tips it is quite easy for anyone to produce great moon images.
Moon misconceptions:
Many people believe that the moon is dark, large and slow moving, comes out at night
Moon is actually Bright, small and fast moving, is often there during daytime
Moon facts:
Doesn’t just rise at night – rises at different time each day
Full moon always at dusk
Moon is lit by the sun so as it’s position varies in relation the lit portion changes
Phases of the moon are simply a function of the sun’s position in relation to the moon
Texture of the surface is better shown with side lighting (waning or waxing)
Appears bigger close to horizon (actually not)
Moon shots possible in morning as well – or through the day. (waning or waxing)
Rises at different direction every day winter/Summer
Northern hemisphere moon is different to southern.

Some times of year the moon gets closer to the earth in it’s orbit (super moon)

Shoot with tele – Moon bigger, less time to shoot as it gets too high
Foreground a long way away

Less light pollution away from cities
Less air contaminants in morning
Shooting waning or waxing moon shows more texture and shape
