The art of posing people in front of your camera takes time to learn. Learning how to pose, direct, encourage your subject properly for a photograph is a combination of practice, preparation and co-operation with your subject to achieve the desired results.
If your subject is experienced in front of the camera (like Paige) you still need to "steer" the posing constantly to get the desired images.
If you are shooting a less experienced person, you need to be more pro-active in communicating the pose to them.
Never just leave it up to the model or client to run through poses for you.
It puts too much pressure on them and you are not in control of the images you are capturing.
In this first of a three part series with page, I explain the reasons, techniques and philosophy of posing as I do it. I show you vision of the shoot as well as the resulting stills.
Be in control of your images by learning to direct your subject. It's not easy at first but your quality of work will soon show a vast improvement.
