00:36 Zoa peak trailhead and parking
There is no outhouse or washroom near the Zoa peak trailhead. The parking can accommodate around 10-12 cars. There is also a stream near by which descends from the Falls lake. There is also a signboard which shows the Zoa Peak sign
01:24 First left
The trail veers away from the wide gravel path to the left after the first 200 to 300 meters. The trail starts to get steeper from here onwards. The trail is mostly in open and wide. So, on a sunny day, you can see the surrounding mountains nearby. There are signboards along the trail too which show you the right trail
03:21 Forest area begins
After almost 1.2 Km from the parking lot, you will come across another signboard pointing to take you another left. Until now, the trail was in open. But here onwards, the trail runs through the forest and under the canopy. This brings in some respite from the heat and sun. From here onwards, the trail continues to be steep for the next 1.5 Kms but gradually slacks off.
After around another 500 meters from the previous turn, the trail starts to open again and crosses through the meadows. Now, you also start to get the view of the nearby surrounding mountains as the trail traverses along the ridge. Once along the ridge, the trail opens up again and all along, you keep on getting the views of the nearby mountains.
08:53 First peak
Usually, the view is better from the first peak. But for the sake of hiking, people go up to the second peak which is another KM from the first peak. I would suggest visiting the second peak and then coming back and spending more time at the first peak. The entire trail is very scenic from the first peak until the second peak.
12:40 Zoa Peak
A marker marks the ends of the Zoa peak trail. From here, the view not that great though because of trees. But the trail from the first peak to the second peak is relatively flat
