The disappearance of the Boeing 707 over the Pacific Ocean is an aircraft accident that occurred on January 30, 1979. The VARIG Boeing 707-323C airliner operated cargo flight RG-967 on the Tokyo-Los Angeles-Rio de Janeiro route, but disappeared over the Pacific Ocean 30 minutes after takeoff.
