Github tutorial for beginners using the command line
In this tutorial, we'll be using the macOS terminal to setup a Git repository and use GitHub to save your work (push and pull) to the cloud.
Knowing what I know today, Git and GitHub are two of the most important tools that I only wish I had learned as soon as I started programming. Git is used for tracking changes in your programming files and GitHub is a (mostly) free web service for hosting those files. These technologies make organizing your work and collaborating with others incredibly easy.
For instructions on how to install Git if you don't have it already, please see:

If you need help with the concepts of version management, I have another video that I highly recommend first. Furthermore, we will be using the Terminal, so if you have any hesitations about that, please check out my Introduction to the Terminal
