Probably the best way to edit video in Reaper now is just to download and install VLC Player. then when you launch Reaper again, video files will use VLC and show video formats. It's automatic. No need to do all that FFMEG library stuff]. :You may not ever need a separate video editing program. Reaper is an audio recording program, so of course you can't do a ton of stuff to video. But what you CAN do might be enough to handle all your video editing needs. My constant complaint about most talking-head type videos is that the audio quality is usually really bad. You can fix that problem by recording the audio separately (say into a computer or a handheld audio recorder) from the video. Then you can import the video file into Reaper, load up the "good" audio on a new track, and turn down the crappy (recorded by the camcorder) audio. You can also edit out your video flubs.
