Kennedy Jr has been arrested alongside several famous actresses during the latest 'Fire Drill Friday' climate change protest in Washington, D.C.
The environmental attorney, 65, was pictured being put into zip-tie handcuffs by police on Friday afternoon before he was escorted out of the Russell US Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill.
CSI star Marg Helgenberger, 60, and Grace and Frankie actress June Diane Raphael, 39, were also arrested during the sit-in, where protesters demanded action on a Green New Deal and an end to taxpayer subsidies for oil companies.
Watching on was Raphael's Grace and Frankie co-stars Jane Fonda and Brooklyn Decker, both of whom showed their green credentials by attending the protest.
Fonda, 81, has been a fixture at the Fire Drill Friday rallies over the past several months, having been arrested during the demonstrations on four separate occasions.
However, she managed to avoid being taken into custody on Friday, as she could have received a month in jail in light of her numerous prior arrests.
Kennedy, who is the son of the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy and the nephew of the late President John F. Kennedy, remained calm as he was placed in the back of a police van and taken away.
The father-of-six has long been an avid environmentalist and has spent more than thirty years as an adjunct professor of Environmental Law at Pace University in New York.
Kennedy has also penned several books on the climate change emergency, including the 2017 tome, 'Horsemen of the Apocalypse: The Men Who Are Destroying Life on Earth And What it Means for Our Children'.
In recent years, however, he has become more well-known for his role as an outspoken anti-vaxxer.
