First Seeds Planted: Transfarmation's First Demonstration Hub
We’ve got an exciting update to share! The Transfarmation Project® is celebrating the launch of our very first demonstration hub. At Tom and Sokchea Lim’s former chicken farm in Wadesboro, North Carolina, one of the poultry barns has been converted into a 15,000-square-foot greenhouse capable of growing a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables year-round.
The Lim farm, once used for raising an estimated 540,000 chickens per year, will now be a center for research, education, and visitor engagement, highlighting the potential for profitable and sustainable farm transitions. Their story exemplifies how a shift from factory farming can lead to both economic stability and environmental sustainability.
