I had to check on a bug with terminator [1], never used it before, but it is a nice terminal emulator. You can split window (0:05) like using tmux(1), and more easier to arrange panes by drag-and-dropping with mouse (3:35). Creating new tabs and renaming (0:10). Zooming and Maximizing (0:15).
Preferences (0:40) is clear to use, you could customize a lot of options like colors, keybindings, background etc. It also has plugin system.
Group and broadcast (1:35) are an interesting idea, you could broadcast your keypress to all terminals or only the same group. It might be something useful from this feature.
Resizing panes (2:40) can be down by moving the split bar or using keyboard, Resizing font size of a pane (3:10) can also be done.
The only thing isn't good of Terminator is you might lost data as you could see it crashing during the pane re-arranging, it's not a client/server, there is no fail-safe. Once it's gone, they are all gone. With tmux (1), if only the terminal emulator crashes, you might still be re-attaching to the session and resuming the work as nothing has happened.
