Has PC Gaming Become Too Expensive for Consumers?
With the rise in prices for new graphics cards, and with modern games pushing the limits of older hardware, it makes it seem like at a first glance you’ll need quite an expensive gaming PC to be able to attain playable performance. With the recent release of Nvidia’s RTX 4070, they are now trying to establish the mid-range price as $600 which is quite insane when you think about it. $600 would get you the top tier graphics card that enthusiasts would by while mainstream gamers would opt for cards in that $150-$300 segment. However, I do more of a deeper dive on this subject to find out just how much money one can expect to pay for a gaming rig in 2023 that will handle modern gaming at acceptable settings most consumers are actually using along with the types of games that are popular.
