🔍 Part 31: Moving Points Diagonally
To move a point along a diagonal line, select a point with the selection tool and hit enter on your keyboard. Add your measurement to the width, 0 to the height and click Copy. Next, click the rotate tool, set the original point as the point of rotation, and drag the middle of the new point to line up with the diagonal line. We now know that point is exactly 5cm from the existing point, but now it falls along the diagonal line.
You can also mark a point along a diagonal line using the move tool’s angle option. First find the angle of the line using the line tool. To do this, click and drag along the direction of the line. In the grey box you will see the angle of the line displayed. Next, select your point using the selection tool, and hit enter on your keyboard. Add 0cm to the width and 0cm to the height. Add your measurement to the distance input and the angle of the line to the angle input. Finally hit copy.
