Overview: Smart Assistant
Smart Assistant is a learning intelligence that uses the sensors in your home and the status of your SkyControl, whether it is armed or disarmed, to determine if you are home and adjusts your Vivint Smart Home thermostat accordingly. No more complicated schedules or programming required.
It will learn when you typically wake up, get home from work, go to bed for the night and more in order to keep your home at a comfortable temperature when you are there and conserve energy when you Ûªre not.
On initial setup through the vivint smart home app, you will be asked a few questions in order to help the Smart Assistant get to know you and your personal needs.
The first of these questions is to enable geo-location services for the Vivint Sky App. By sharing your location, your system will be more accurate at determining when you are home, away or on vacation. This will help you conserve energy and save money.
Once your Smart Assistant is set up, it will take a week or two to learn your patterns and start predicting when to adjust your thermostat automatically.
You can see what state your thermostat is in by going to the thermostat screen in the vivint sky mobile app or in the control my home section of the online account center.
There are four states available for your Smart Assistant: Home, Away, Sleep, and Vacation
If the state is currently set to Û÷Home Ûª, you will see the current and target temperatures displayed.
If your home is in the away, sleeping, or vacation states, you will see the corresponding icon such as a bed for sleeping, a car for away and an airplane for vacation.
If you would like to manually change the state of your thermostat, you can do so by tapping the icon in the top right corner and selecting your desired state.
If you would like to change the temperature preferences for the different states, you can tap the menu icon on the bottom of the thermostat screen. Then tap Û÷Smart Assistant preferences Ûª
Here you will see all of the states plus the heat and cool temperatures associated with them.
To make adjustments, tap the state you would like to edit and use the arrows to adjust the temperatures.
