I am not a Chef just a Home Cook. I make simple and easy recipes.
I grew up on garden food and southern home cooking. I will be sharing some recipes that my Momma made and other family recipes and things I made for my family when my kids were growing up. I also look for new things to make online or recipe books and will make it and give it a try.

Slow Cooker Mississippi Beef Pot Roast
Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons olive oil (or vegetable oil)
2 to 4 pound chuck roast
black pepper (to taste)
1 packet ranch dressing mix
1 packet au jus gravy mix
½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
6 to 8 peperoncini peppers
1 TBSP pepperoncini juice
Do not add extra salt or it will be too salty.

Directions:
Heat up a large skillet on high. Add 2 Tablespoons olive oil to hot skillet. You want it really hot here to brown or "sear" the beef quickly. This can also be done in your slow cooker if you have the sear or saute option. (optional) but I do recommend searing meat.
Season with a little bit of pepper. Once the skillet is nice and hot, add the roast. Using tongs, flip the meat over and sear the other side of the roast for another 2-3 minutes.
Transfer meat to slow cooker. Sprinkle 1 packet ranch dressing mix and 1 packet Au Jus gravy mix over pot roast. Top with 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter then place peperoncini peppers on the roast. add pepperoncini juice on meat and around it. You can add more juice to your taste if you want a bite but this is just adding flavor.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
Discard any big fatty pieces. Then serve.
