Locking your Messenger app is setting up security measures like a PIN, password, or biometric authentication (such as fingerprint or facial recognition) to restrict access to the app.
This means that whenever you or anyone else tries to open the Messenger app, they will be prompted to provide the set authentication method to gain access.
Locking your Messenger app ensures that only you can access your private conversations, protecting them from prying eyes.
It prevents unauthorized access to your messages, contacts, and any other sensitive information stored within the app.
🔶STEPS🔶
To lock your Facebook Messenger app,
1. Open the Messenger app on your mobile device.
2. Tap on the three horizontal line menu in the top left corner.
3. Tap on the settings icon.
4. Scroll down and tap on "Privacy & safety."
5. Find and tap on "App Lock" under the Security section.
6. Here you can enable PIN, password, or fingerprint for your Messenger app.
7. Enable the toggle switch button next to "Unlock with biometrics."
8. Place your finger on the device fingerprint area.
9. To use a PIN or password, tap on "Unlock another way" and again tap on "Use PIN."
10. Enter your device lock PIN to confirm and use the same PIN in Messenger.
11. It will automatically lock your Messenger app.
If you want to lock it immediately, choose "After I leave Messenger," or select "After 1 minute," "After 15 minutes," or "After 1 hour" of leaving Messenger.
Once enabled, your Messenger app will start asking you to use your fingerprint or PIN code before opening Messenger, based on your chosen settings.
