It needs to convert Word to a web page first and then to Excel using the Indirect approach, after conversion, the alignment of all the words in the table will change and also need to be adjusted; although both methods need to be adjusted, the adjustment method is simple and the adjustment steps are few.
One. Quick way for Word to Excel
1. Open the document we want to convert to Excel with Word, click any unit of the table to make the icon for selecting the whole table appear in the upper left corner of the table, click this icon to select the whole table, press Ctrl + C to copy;switch to the Excel window, press Ctrl + V to paste, then the selected table is pasted to Excel, but the first column is not displayed like Word, stretch the first column, then widen the first column, and the first column will be fully displayed, but the row height is still too low and needs to be adjusted higher. Click the arrow in the upper left corner of the table to select all rows, right-click the row number, select "Row Height" in the pop-up menu, open the Row Height setting window, enter 26, click "OK", the row height will change to the set value, press Ctrl + S to open the "Save As" window, select "This PC", select a save folder, open the "Save As" window, enter the file name "Clothing sales", click "Save", Word to Excel.
2. It can completely copy the table style of Word to Excel with the method, but the row height and column width will automatically become smaller and need to be readjusted.
Two. Indirect approach for Word to Excel
1. Convert Word to web page. Click "File", select "Save As" on the left, then click "Browse" on the right to open the "Save As" window, select the folder we want to save the web page, and click "Save" to convert the Word document to a web page.
2. Convert Web page to Excel
A. Select "File", click "Save As", select a save path, pop up the "Open" window, locate the folder where the web page we just saved, double-click the webpage file we just saved, and the "File in use" window is popped up.
B. Click "Read Only" to open the web file in Excel.
Note: If we close the Word window after converting Word to a web page, the "File in use" prompt will be not popped up.
3. Adjust the alignment. When we open a web page in Excel, the text in the table is all down and not vertically centered, and we need to center them vertically again. Click the arrow in the upper left corner of the table to select the entire table, select the "Home" tab, and click the "Middle Align" icon to align all text in the table.
4. Save as an Excel document. Hold down the Alt key, press F, O, A once or use the above method to open the "Save As" window, locate the folder we want to save, enter the file name "Clothing sales", select "Excel Workbook" for "Save as type", and click "Save" to convert the web page into an Excel document.
5. Show gridlines in Excel
If we want to show the Gridlines, we can do this: select the "View" tab, check "Gridlines", then the Gridlines will be shown.
