I painted the Finnish mythology that inspired Tolkien to write Lord of the Rings. It’s almost time for Finnish Culture Day in honor of the Finnish mythology epic Kalevala, a collection of Finnish folk poetry gathered by Elias Lönnrot, published in 1835.

My version of the Maiden of North from Kalevala is an acrylic painting on cardboard. I used the masking technique from a recent video and learnt how to paint fire spewing dragon, because my first attempt at painting the flames was kind of embarrassing.
