How I Beat Terraria's HARDEST Boss On LEGENDARY MODE
In this video i show you how i managed to beat DAYTIME EMPRESS OF LIGHT IN MASTER MODE FOR THE WORTHY!
The Empress of Light is a Hardmode, post-Plantera boss fought in The Hallow. While she can be fought as soon as Plantera is defeated, she is significantly more difficult than most Hardmode bosses and will typically require post-Golem gear. The Empress of Light fight is optional and is not required for progression.
The Empress of Light is summoned by killing a Prismatic Lacewing, a rare critter that spawns in the surface Hallow at night between 7:30 PM - 12:00 AM once Plantera has been defeated in the current world. The Prismatic Lacewing is one of the few entities that can be detected by the Lifeform Analyzer.
The Prismatic Lacewing can be killed at any time in any biome to summon the boss. However, if released outside of the Hallow biome it will despawn near instantly, so it must be placed onto a persisting and damaging projectile or by using a weapon that could attack and kill it before the critter vanishes.
Although the Prismatic Lacewing only spawns naturally in worlds where Plantera has been defeated, it is possible to bring one to a Pre-Hardmode world and kill it to summon the boss.
Like most critters, the Prismatic Lacewing can be caught with any bug net, and can then be released and killed by the player.
The Terraprisma is a Hardmode, post-Plantera summon weapon. It spawns a copy of itself that rapidly attacks nearby enemies. It is a guaranteed drop from the Empress of Light when all damage dealt to the Empress occurs during the day.
It is thought to be one of the hardest summon weapons to acquire in the game, as the Empress of Light will one shot the player with any attack during the day, but is also one of the best summons in the game due its unique and powerful attacks.
Its best modifier is Ruthless. The Mythical modifier provides the widest array of stat bonuses, but these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, minions cannot deal critical hits. The only lasting advantage a Mythical Terraprisma has over a Ruthless one is knockback.
Legendary Mode is the hardest world difficulty, but contrary to the other world difficulties it is not available in the world creation menu. It can instead only be created by creating a Master Mode world with either the for the worthy seed or the everything seed. In the world selection menu, the color of the difficulty text is lime-green. Unlike other difficulties it does not have a description; this is due to it not being available in the world creation menu which is where descriptions can normally be found.
All changes from Master and Expert Mode as well as those from the for the worthy seed apply. Legendary mode itself has no exclusive items or changes.
For the Worthy is a secret world seed introduced in the 1.4.0.3 update. This secret seed's features aim to drastically increase the difficulty of the game.
