Chill Lab: Chipset Thermal Pad Replacement (Chipset Was Cooking!)
I decided to start calling these odd videos "Chill Labs" because it's more about testing, fixing, or exploring parts than the builds, but it's not always an "experiment." It also rolls off the tongue a little better.
Anyway. Let me know in the comments if you've had issues with high chipset temperatures on your AM5 motherboards and what kind of board you have.
If you try this, be careful not to get finger oils on the thermal pads or chipsets. With CPU's you're not usually working with a bare chip, and while it's never happened to me, I imagine introducing certain foreign substances on a chip's surface could make the heating uneven and may cause issues. Heck, even my pad replacement could potentially cause issues. You have been warned!!!
