I was looking forward to this for a long time, and of course, technical issues destroyed the build. Normally I would consider re-filming the process, but it was such a basic part of the build that you should see what I did from the fancy time at the end.
From now on, I'll be making backups on a regular hard drive after each filming to make sure I've got extra redundancy.
By the way, I'm going to wholeheartedly recommend everyone stay away from the Crucial X9 Pro external SSD. It's my fault for trusting something critical to just the SSD, but this drive fights with both my Windows and Apple computers, often refusing to eject. Many of my files ended up showing as 0 bytes. If there's a fix for this, please let me know. Otherwise getting a larger editing drive was a huge waste of money. This never happened with my older 1TB drive.
That said, and despite the footage issues and putting a small scratch in my A770, I enjoyed this build. The Q58 does plenty of things well enough for an SFF PC that it has (or should have had) some staying power in the market. Many SFF cases depend on one or two gimmicks to sell, but don't have much else going for them. This one, at least, is a pretty solid case over all.
I think, if you don't mind losing the glass, it's worth seeking out the extra mesh panels for a very well ventilated build.
