Home Assistant Raspberry Pi 4 SSD (INSTALL + MIGRATION)
In this video we are going to be installing the latest version of Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi 4 using an SSD. Moving from an SD card to an SSD or want a clean install on an SSD? This video has you covered.
We are taking simple approach to the SSD install and using the Pi Imager to update our Pi 4 and ready it for USB booting.
This SSD installation can be used for a fresh clean install of Home Assistant or also if your are moving from an SD card to an SSD. The migration from the SD card to the SSD is shown in this video.
By the end of this you should have a working version of Home Assistant running on an SSD with your Raspberry Pi.

HOW LONG DOES THE EEPROM UPDATE TAKE?

The update should just take a few minutes. I said 10 mins just to make
sure people didn't yank the Pi out too soon. In the video we are doing a headless install (No monitor). If you where to plug your Pi into a monitor to do the update you would get a green screen when it was successful. So TLDR; just leave it a few minutes then its safe to unplug (The green act lights don't stop flashing)
